Kingsvale School opened in 1914 as the original village school for Kingstanding, on Holly Lane — the road we now call Kingstanding Road. It predates all of the inter-war estate.

School outings in the 1920s

Photographs from the 1920s show Kingsvale pupils setting off on school outings, posing for the camera in a charabanc — an open motor coach.
