In short

  • Kingstanding.org is run by Kingstanding Together, an unincorporated community association for Kingstanding, Oscott and Perry Common, run by local people. We were founded in 2025.
  • We are not Birmingham City Council, not a political party, and not the Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board.
  • To report a problem to the council or find a local service, use Who do I contact? To reach us, use our contact form.

What we do

Kingstanding Together is run by its members — neighbours looking after the place we live. Our volunteers:

How we are run

We are governed by a written constitution. It sets out our objects, our founding principles, who can be a member and how decisions are made. Under it:

  • membership is free and open to anyone aged 18 or over;
  • the Association is managed by a Management Committee of seven — a Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and three members of the overall membership — elected by members at an Annual General Meeting;
  • accounts and reports are presented to members at the Annual General Meeting.

Where things stand: our constitution was adopted at a general meeting of the Association on 12 November 2025. Changes made since, including the clauses that allow online voting, take effect once they are adopted as the constitution sets out.

Who we are not

  • Not the council. We can point you to the right council service, but we can’t act on reports ourselves — report problems to the council.
  • Not a political party. Under clause 16 of our constitution, no political party or outside organisation can control our membership, funds, communications or governance. Members who belong to a party or hold elected office take part as members, not as representatives of anyone else.
  • Not the Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board. The Board agrees the vision and plan for how the Pride in Place money will be used; we do not decide how it is spent. We run the Pride in Place page and the residents’ survey so that as many local people as possible can have their say — see who does what.
  • Not Kingstanding Community Association. That is a separate, long-established charity at Kings Road / Kingstanding Road. We are not connected to it — different organisations, both working for Kingstanding.
