Accessibility statement
We want everyone in our community to be able to use This is Kingstanding, whatever their abilities or the device they use.
Our commitment
This is Kingstanding is a community website for Kingstanding, Oscott and Perry Common. We aim to meet the international WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standard and to keep improving the site over time.
How we try to make the site accessible
- Text and colours are chosen to meet AA colour-contrast levels.
- The site works on phones, tablets and desktop computers.
- You can navigate with a keyboard, including a “skip to main content” link at the top of each page.
- Images have text alternatives where they carry meaning.
- Pages use proper headings and landmarks for screen readers.
Known limitations
Some content is submitted by community groups and businesses, so the quality of image descriptions and formatting can vary. Embedded maps rely on a third-party mapping service that may be harder to use with some assistive technologies. We review reported issues and fix them as quickly as we can.
