King’s Rise Primary School today.

Chris Hillcox’s timeline of King’s Rise – Peckham Road School on Voices of Kingstanding: the school is open by 1932; in 1941 Miss Bloxham and some children are evacuated to Swanwick; in the early 1940s Mrs Bloxham is head of the infants and Mr Phillips the junior school headmaster; in 1943 Miss Boot is headmistress of the infants; and by 1955 the school is called King’s Rise.

I was a pupil at Peckham Rd infants School, i remember Mrs Bloxham the headmistress and mrs Rawson who taught the choir that i was a member of. … Mr Terry Walters and Mrs Diane Laws were my Junior teachers and we had a great Headmaster name Mr Phillips.”
