Bandywood Road spinney today.

Photographed for Voices of Kingstanding in December 2010 for its page of memories of the Bandywood Road spinney.

Notes

The file name spells it “brandywood” and one caption “Brandwood”; the page itself says Bandywood Road.

Local memories

What people who knew this place have said about it, in their own words. These are memories, not checked facts.

“Where have all the trees gone? Lots of trees full of rooks and crows nests on both sides of the road. From my home in Dormington Road I could hear the owl at night in the Bandywood trees. As these trees died and were cut down they should have been replaced. Played in the spinney before going into school. Remember the church being built.”
