Detail from the War Office one-inch map of England and Wales, Sheet 72 (Birmingham), GSGS 3907. Its title calls it the 'Second War Revision 1940'. The detail covers Queslett, Pheasey Farm, Old Oscott, the northern Kingstanding estate, 'Kettle Ho. Fm', 'King's Standing' and King's Standing Wood, Kings Vale and New Oscott. The sheet carries the military 'Modified British System' grid that the Army used for map references during the war.

Place: confirmed. The map itself names King's Standing, Kettle Ho. Fm, Kings Vale, Old Oscott, New Oscott, Queslett and Pheasey Fm. Date: NLS catalogues it as 'Second War Revision 1940 [Popular Edition mapping, Sales Copy, with grid]', printed 1943. The base mapping is the Popular Edition of c.1915–16, updated in the war revisions with new roads and built-up areas. That is why the 1930s estate streets appear, though some details are older. Military maps like this were used for Home Guard, AA and ARP planning. NLS also holds a 1939 printing (NLS 239291776) and a 1944 outline printing (NLS 239291770) of the same sheet. The file is a stitched crop (IIIF region 3150,560,1500,1150 at full resolution) of NLS 239291773.
