The King's Standing, the scheduled mound that gave Kingstanding its name, in February 2005.

The low mound on Kingstanding Road, traditionally where Charles I stood to review troops in 1642, now a small green among estate houses.

Notes

Photographer's caption repeats the Charles I tradition. The mound is a scheduled monument (King's Standing bowl barrow, list entry 1016437), probably a Bronze Age burial mound; the royal story is tradition, not proven. The archive has a 1966 LoB photo of 'The Tumulus'; the site's own mound photo is used elsewhere.
