Paul Hillcox writes on Voices of Kingstanding: “I was asked to photograph classes and teachers as part of a display in the main corridor of the school, I was in the 6th form at the time and involved in A level photography tutored by Mr Fitton one of the art teachers … it was taken in 1976 just before the summer holidays.”

Paul adds that Mr Lane “was the King’s Rise ultimate deterrent for naughty children!”
