College Arms ‘assembly room’, 1930s.

Before Christ the King had a church, Mass was said in the assembly room of the College Arms pub on College Road. This page comes from the parish’s 1932–33 year book in the Christ the King archive on Voices of Kingstanding. A later newspaper article in the same archive says Father Byrne’s “services at the ‘College Arms’ proved successful”.

Notes

Voices of Kingstanding captions it “1930’s”; the date comes from the year book the page belongs to.
