Local memories

What people who knew this place have said about it, in their own words. These are memories, not checked facts.

“I was at Kingsland Road School from 1946-1950, the boys classrooms were on one side of the playground and the girls were on the other side. Although we all shared the same playground the rules were that we ( boys) were not allowed to mix with the girls.”

— Roy Brookes ( Hall), 10 June 2015, Voices of Kingstanding

“… I had nightmares for years about running along the wooden corridors of that school, holes would appear, and I was afraid of falling through them.”

— Paula Ann Walker, 13 October 2012, Voices of Kingstanding
