A printed caption below reads “Binstead Road – 1953 Coronation Day for Queen Elizabeth II. My mum is in the centre holding me – Gill Hobday”. — Photo: Gill Hobday / Lee Lewis (as credited on Voices of Kingstanding). Binstead Road – 1953 Coronation Day for Queen Elizabeth II.

Neighbours on Binstead Road celebrating the coronation in June 1953. Voices of Kingstanding shows it on its Binstead Road and 1953 coronation pages.

Notes

Voices of Kingstanding credits Lee Lewis, who shared it, but the caption printed on the photograph is signed by Gill Hobday, who says her mother, in the centre, is holding her. It appears to be Gill Hobday’s family photograph, so both names are given.
