Wooden pens and ceramic inkpots

told by Gordon Smith

Schooldays

I went to Kingsland from 1962 through to 1967 I had to leave then in the last year due to parents moving and went to another local school Banners Gate Only after did I realise just how good Kingsland was I remember Mrs Lamb teaching us German for which I still use when abroad What a great school it was which I missed when leaving Walking to Kingstanding baths for lessons which was miles away, doing pottery and singing in choir All very advanced for its time and many other brilliant things People don’t believe me when I say we used wooden pens with push in nibs and white ceramic ink pots! Sounds a bit Victorian but those were the days
