“I have fond memories of Sundridge Rd, I was there from 1956–1961, I remember Mrs. Bilton, Mr. Kelly who taught us Irish dancing, Mr. Poole. I remember the old toilets at the bottom of the yard…”
“… the old toilets at the bottom of the playground, the cloakrooms between the classrooms with sinks with the strong smelling red soap!”
“My father Mr Poole was the head teacher at Sundridge Road for a number of years during the 1960’s before moving to a larger school in Handsworth … He built the pond that had goldfish in at one time.”
“I have a newspaper cutting of the official opening of the fish pond, Mr Poole & all the pupils standing around.”
“Every morning we would be walked into the hall in our respective classes to a piece of classical music. I have a love of the classics because of this I’m sure…”
“I was at Sundridge from top infants with Mrs Jones. Mrs White taught us in first year juniors, Mr Hutchinson in second year juniors and Mr Kelly in top Juniors. Mr Poole was the Head followed by Mr Kelly. Mrs Bilton was always beautifully dressed … Loved the country dancing afternoon in the playground and playing skittle ball.”

“I was there in the 60’s … In my day we had fantastic football and cricket teams, led by Mr Leeming and Mr Harvey the headmaster.”
