King’s Rise senior school site being cleared

King’s Rise Secondary School. Copyright Keith Wright.

One of a set of photographs of King’s Rise Secondary School by Keith Wright, who taught there. He writes on Voices of Kingstanding: “Chris H contacted me for permission to show mine from the Friends Reunited site. I am so glad I took so many to record a slice of social history.”

The senior school has since gone. Brendan Griffiths writes on the page: “The senior school has now gone and houses have been built there but the infants and junior school still remains… It’s a shame as the school was built when the estate was built.”

Notes

The photo is not captioned beyond the school name; it appears to show the site being cleared, but Voices of Kingstanding gives no date.
