Letter issued by Dulwich Road Girls school in 1940 with regard to air raid protocol

Lee Lewis provided this letter issued by Dulwich Road Girls’ school in 1940 about air-raid protocol. Parents were asked to cross out two of three choices: to call for their children, to have them sent home quickly in any lull, or to keep them in the school shelters until the “All Clear”, the notice warning that the wait “may be hours” and the “Black-out” is early.

Christine Mullard, remembering Dulwich Road girls’ school in the 1930s on Voices of Kingstanding, names Miss Wallace as the headmistress.
