Notes

Place: Pheasey, the estate just over the city boundary north-west of Kingstanding. It was then in Aldridge Urban District, Staffordshire, and is not part of Kingstanding. Part of the half-built Pheasey Farm estate was a US Army replacement depot from 1942 to mid-1945. That is covered by the GI researcher and not pursued here. Date: printed on the ticket. VJ Day was 15 August 1945. Location confidence: confirmed (Pheasey); hall's exact site unconfirmed.
