Mr. Phillips was HT and Mrs. Morgan seemed to have responsibility for the girl’s welfare.
I (randomly) remember an assembly she did in about 1974/75. It was about a girl telling their Mom that they had said something nasty to another child (who wouldn’t forgive her) and so the child’s parent gave her a tube of toothpaste and told her to squirt it all into the sink. After she’d done it, the parent told her to put it all back inside the tube! I understood the meaning of the story but was scandalised about the waste of toothpaste!
I also remember a talk she gave to the girls about puberty and body odour!
I remember her being Welsh, smartly dressed and her hair immaculate, and a firm but fair teacher.

My name is Valerie and I lived in Caversham Road just a few doors away from St Luke’s church when I was a child. I remember the vicar Richard Butler and his wife who was our local GP for many years.

I used to live in Cranbourne Grove and went to Kingsthorne infants and juniors. I remember it being a lovely school and being very happy there. I would have started school about 1972.
