I spent many Saturday evenings playing in the grounds of H&H and there were two terraces down to the centre terrace, that’s the top one, a flight of stairs a narrow terrace, another flight of steps then the big centre terrace then there was another flight steps, a narrow terrace then another set steps to terrace that the bowling club house was on then down again onto the green. The flight to the bowling green was locked so we used to climb over the railings to sneak in. I lived in Kingstanding with my Mom and dad through the 60’s and into the mid 70’s when I moved at the age of 18 to Erdington.
