I also lived in Ensdon Grove Kingstanding opposite the Watts. I am part of the Gill family. It was a great place to grow up even though there was a war on. I have very fond memories of Ensdon Grove. Th man we called the pied piper would go up and down each grove playing his penny whistle. The rag and bone man ,who for a few old clothes would give you a goldfish, although it never survived for long. Our family were the toffee apple people and we used to have lines of kids waiting to buy toffee apples my mom and nan used to make .Happy days
