I was at Cranbourne Road school from 1952-58. I remember teachers Mr Martin, Mr Ledger and Miss Parker. Head teachers were Mr Hawkins and Mr Worrall. There was a climbing frame in the side playground we called the Jungle Gym (I thought it was Jungle Jim). My friends included Chris Egan, Teresa Williams and Diane Perks. Steve Winwood was in my class. I remember he was a good pianist even then. There was a school musical ‘Peter Pan’ with Gillian Wanty singing ‘Getting to know you’ and Margaret Carter as Tinkerbell. I played recorder and sang in the choir but was never chosen for anything else. Playground games included ‘Muddles’, ‘What’s the time Mr Wolf’, ‘In and out the Scottish Bluebells’, ‘Lucy Locket’, skipping and ball games.
