‘Come in number six, your time is up’

told by Alan Bartlett

Growing Up

We were always over the “lakes”. The model yachts were kept in a Nissan hut not far from the lake and we would wait there for the owners to wheel them out and down to the water for launching. Superb models. Remember the motor boat rides round the lake and the rowing boats. “Come in number six, your time is up” There was a café above the boat house as well. It got burnt down I think, such a waste. I think almost everyone must have fallen in one of the lakes trying to catch stickle backs, I know I did. That was over 60 years ago but are still fresh in the mind ,Happy days.
