Re Cooksey lane Playing Fields I was always under the impression that is was a gift to the public from Cadbury’s. There was no hut there, but a large Pavilion, with snooker tables, table tennis, changing rooms for the Soccer players etc. There was also a canteen which sold sandwiches, tea, and coffee. We had two horse used mainly for pulling the mowers. He (father) also worked two days a week at the Kingstanding Community Centre which was all part of his work.

Filmed for Voices of Kingstanding in 2011, Barry Floyd recalls his family moving to the Kettlehouse Farm estate from central Birmingham in the 1930s, and where his parents came from.
