I was born in 1938 in Danesbury Crescent I learned to swim in Kingstanding Baths when I was 4 years old. The little baths was not in use in the war, Think it was used as a medical room
When I went to school at Dulwich road school I always had a free pass you had to swim a width to get one. This was increased each year and then a time was added and each year you had to swim faster. I always had a free pass and went swimming every day until I left school. I swam for my school in many events and Swimming has been the only sport I have been interested in.
I do not know why they knocked it down, and I have never been to the new one.
