Correction & Takedown Policy
We want the information on This is Kingstanding to be accurate, fair and safe. This policy explains how to request a correction or takedown and how we respond.
This is Kingstanding is a community hub for Kingstanding, Oscott and Perry Common. Much of our content is submitted by local groups and businesses and moderated by our team. If something is wrong, out of date, or shouldn't be published, please tell us.
Who can request a correction or takedown
Anyone — residents, community groups, local businesses, councillors or public bodies — can ask us to correct or remove content. You do not need to be the subject of the content to raise a concern, although it helps us if you explain your connection to it.
How to make a request
Use our Request a Correction or Takedown form. Please include the page address (URL), what is wrong, and any evidence that supports your request. The more detail you give, the faster we can act.
What we can help with
- Incorrect or inaccurate information
- Out-of-date information (for example a closed venue or past event)
- Privacy concerns, including personal data that should not be public
- Image concerns, including photographs published without permission
- Business listing errors or disputes
- Event details that are wrong
- Safeguarding concerns
- Legal concerns, including defamation or copyright
How we prioritise requests
We treat safeguarding, privacy and legal concerns as urgent and aim to review them as quickly as possible, removing or hiding content while we investigate where appropriate. Other corrections are handled in turn. Each request is logged and tracked through the stages: new, reviewing, actioned, rejected or closed.
Our decision
We will correct or remove content where a request is valid. We may decline a request if the content is accurate, fairly reported and in the public interest, or if a takedown would not be appropriate — for example factual civic information. Where we can, we will explain our decision. We may remove or hide any content at any time for safeguarding, legal or moderation reasons.
Responsibility for submitted content
Community updates and group content are submitted by local groups and moderated under our submission guidelines. The submitting group is responsible for the accuracy of its own information. Free business listings do not influence editorial content, councillor updates, campaigns or community reporting.
