How This Site Works

This is Kingstanding is a community information hub for Kingstanding, Oscott and Perry Common. Here's what it's for, what it isn't, and how to get the most from it.

Using the site

Find what you need

Use the menu or the homepage to find local help, useful contacts, news, community groups, and meetings and events. Most pages let you filter by your area.

Add or update a listing

Run a group, business or event? You can submit it for free. Listings are checked before they go live to keep the site accurate and trustworthy.

We point, services act

When you report an issue or contact a service, your message goes to that organisation — usually the council or police — not to us. We simply help you find the right route.

What we are

  • A community-run information hub for the local area
  • A signposting service that points you to the right local help
  • A free directory of community groups, businesses, events and contacts
  • A place to keep up with local news and updates

What we're not

  • A part of Birmingham City Council or any emergency service
  • A way to report emergencies — always call 999 for those
  • A service that fixes problems or processes applications itself
  • A place to share private or sensitive personal information

Common questions

Who runs This is Kingstanding?

It's a community project run by local volunteers, for residents of Kingstanding, Oscott and Perry Common. We're not affiliated with the council.

Does it cost anything to be listed?

No. Listing a community group, event or business is free. We may add optional supporter features in future, but core listings will always be free for the community.

How do I get something added or corrected?

Use the relevant submit form, or send us a correction request. We review submissions before publishing to keep information reliable.

Where does the information come from?

From residents, local organisations and publicly available sources. We do our best to keep it accurate, but always check directly with a service before relying on details like opening hours.

Still have a question? Visit our about page or get in touch— we're always happy to hear from residents.
